This is the other color of Am yellow that does not have the strong blue rump. There is no honest explanation for this difference.

The significant difference between Pastel and Am. Yellow is the greyish flights and the much less blue rump. The Am. Yellow and Yellow European Pastel have been bred together to see if there is any relation between the two. All chicks were green double splits and produced accordingly when bred back to their visual colors.
